MOLD MAKER / MANUAL MACHINIST


We are a well-established precision mold maker founded in 1989. Our primary business is custom molds for the plastics industry. We design and build a variety of types of molds from complex, high tolerance two shot injection molds, thermoset tooling, high volume specialty bottle molds, and extrusion blow molds.

We are seeking a well-rounded experienced mold maker/manual machinist. Candidate will be responsible for operating machine tools to produce precision one off metal parts.  Must be able to ensure products meet precise specifications. Candidate should be a self-starter requiring minimal supervision.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

·            A minimum of 5 years of experience operating manual mills, lathes, grinders, and related equipment.

·            Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and set up of manual machines.

·            Understand proper tooling and procedures for machining a variety of materials including, carbon steel, stainless steel, ferrous and
             nonferrous alloys, aluminum, and plastic.

·            Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, understand drawing features, and 3D data.

·            Demonstrated ability to use common shop floor measuring instruments.

·            Ability to follow written instructions and procedures.

·            Ability to use modern shop floor communication and scheduling software.

Preferred qualifications include:

·          Experience in a custom machining –one off environment.

·          Mold making experience.

·          Bench and assembly experience.

 

Responsibilities include:

·     Responsible for set-up, operation and care of manual machines including mills, grinders, lathes and related equipment.

·     Working from blueprints, 3D data, and established programs, to perform machining operations requiring close tolerances

·     Responsible for accurate machining to required specifications in a timely manner.

Hours of Work:
1st shift Monday –Friday 6am‑2:30pm. Employee must be available to work overtime as needed.
