CNC Programmer/CNC Machinist


Industrial Mold and Machine is a well-established precision mold maker founded in 1989.  We design, build, modify, and repair a large variety molds including complex, high tolerance two shot injection molds, thermoset tooling, high volume injection molds, high volume blow molds, and extrusion blow molds.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced programmer who can utilize CAM software to create programs for 2D parts, complex 3D surfacing, and 3+2 positional programs.  Additionally, candidates must have experience with setup and running a CNC machine. A thorough knowledge of G & M codes is required.  Fanuc control experience as well as full working knowledge of modern CNC machining centers is also required. The qualified candidate will be responsible for setup, operating, tooling and basic troubleshooting for 1st shift.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

 

1.    A minimum 5 years of experience creating CNC Programs

2.    Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures involving CNC machines

3.    G-Code & CAD/CAM knowledge

4.    Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, understand drawing features, and 3D data

5.    Full understanding of tool offsets

6.    Ability to follow written instructions and procedures

7.    Ability to use modern shop floor communication and scheduling software

 

Preferred qualifications include:

 

1.    Cimatron Program experience

2.    Experience in a custom machining – one off environment

3.    Mold making experience

4.    Experience on high speed and/or 3D contour machining

Responsibilities include:

-    Create all necessary CNC documents and programs needed to manufacture required mold components

-    Supply CNC Machinists with necessary information to complete assigned projects

-    Make sure that all tooling used in programs is in stock and usable

-    Keep notes of any design errors or programming mistakes in job log.

-    Stay familiar with new machining methods and software updates.

-    Provide technical direction to CNC Machinists as needed

-    Help write the process sheets (Travelers) for the jobs

-    Assist in production as needed.

Hours of Work:
1st shift Monday – Friday 6am‑2:30pm. Employee must be available to work overtime as needed.
